Elaine Chu is a writer, director, and actress from rural Wisconsin. Her work can be found streaming on Shudder, Roku, and across digital platforms. Her feature horror thriller, The Purgation, was distributed on Redbox and VOD. She has also directed branded content for Disney, Mattel, and Shutterfly. In 2017 she was recognized by Glamour magazine's #NewView program for her commercial directing work. Elaine is a mentor for emerging filmmakers via Hollywood's #StartWith8 program.
As a writer, her screenplays have placed twice at Sundance, and her sketch comedy hits have premiered on UCB, Second City, and Westside Comedy stages.
She is a proud member of SAG-AFTRA.
