Father of movie producer Frank Freeman Jr..
Freeman started at Paramount in 1933. He was vice-president and head of Paramount Studios from 1938-1959. He stayed with Paramount as vice-president of the company and announced his retirement effective Jan. 1, 1967.
Freeman was the first person awarded the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award in 1957 by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
