Camila Gutiérrez was raised and grew up in Santiago, Chile. She is a Hispanic Literature graduate, journalist, screenwriter and mostly an author, who came to the public eye for the movie based on her life as a rebel Evangelical bisexual teenager 'Young & Wild' (2012), which she co-wrote, also for her books 'Joven y Alocada' and 'No te Ama' and for her pioneer LGBT-themed radio show 'Ciudad Cola' (2014) in Súbela Radio and the radio show/podcast 'El Amor Según' also in Súbela Radio. She has entered into a civil union with the Chilean Frente Amplio politician Giorgio Jackson since January 19, 2024.
