He dominated an entire decade of TV like no one before or since, with hit after hit that expanded the boundaries of what could be done with the old-fashioned multi-camera sitcom format (shot on a stage in front of a studio audience), and what kinds of stories and characters audiences would accept.

Royal Rendezvous is definitely not the kind of rom-com you’ll see on every channel, as the trailer TV Insider is exclusively debuting shows. In E!‘s scripted movie, starring Isabella Gomez, Ruairi O’Connor, and Ronan Raftery and premiering on Sunday, February 26, an East L.A. chef, Cat, is invited to a manor in Ireland to cook for the royal banquet in an effort by a Lord to convince his grandmother not to sell their home. However, as is expected in films like this, budding romances threaten to derail the entire plan. The trailer offers a look at the chef’s invite to Ireland — it comes the day before the family of royals wants her to cook for them for a week after reading about her — as well as her seeing her suite once there. “I am always up for a new adventure,” Cat says. And adventures she will have!

But lest we forget, Moreno is one of the few performers to have won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony award. A Kennedy Center honoree, she has also won various lifetime achievement awards and the Presidential Medal of Freedom, America’s highest civilian honor.
Brent Miller, a producer of the documentary Rita Moreno: Just a Girl Who Decided to Go for It, asked Moreno the question of the day: What does it feel like turning 90?
“It doesn’t feel any different. On the face of it, nothing has changed,” Moreno said. “I’m older and deeply grateful for still being here. And inevitably, now there is concern...

Photo: ‘Head of the Class’ If you don’t remember the original ‘Head of the Class’, then that’s okay. ‘Head of the Class’, first premiering in 1986, was a teen sitcom about a ragtag group of gifted students and their unconventional teacher (Howard Hesseman). The show is remembered for being a vehicle for a lot of rising stars, such as Robin Givens and Dan Schneider. ‘Head of the Class’ was never really as popular as other teen sitcoms of the time, like ‘Saved by the Bell’ or ‘Boy Meets World’, thus it hasn’t really made a lasting impression. With the reboot of ‘Head of the Class’, starring Isabella Gomez of the ‘One Day at a Time’ reboot, it seems as though it might have a similar legacy as the original. The new ‘Head of the Class’, like the original, is a fun vehicle for young stars, but is ultimately...

Isabella Gomez, the Latina actor who charmed audiences as the high school-aged Elena Alvarez on the Netflix-turned-Pop TV reboot of “One Day at a Time,” returns to screens with “Head of the Class” on HBO Max. The new series, executive produced by Bill Lawrence alongside exec producers and writers Amy Pocha and Seth Cohen, is another reboot of a classic sitcom. This time though, Gomez is playing a young educator who wants her students to, per the logline, “focus less on grades and more on experiencing life.”
Gomez, who admits a sense of disbelief in taking on the role of the adult in the room, says she feels “lucky” to play the character of Alicia Gomez and “show people that I can also do that kind of work.”
Here, Gomez speaks with Variety about what she learned from her “One Day at a Time” co-stars and pulls back the curtain on her latest project.

After the U.S. Supreme Court on Wednesday night denied a request to issue emergency relief blocking Texas’ new law that bans abortion at six weeks and, say opponents, effectively eliminates access to abortions statewide, some big names in entertainment expressed their opinions about the legislation.
A group of prominent actors, musicians and other artists and companies swiftly responded to the news on social media. Reese Witherspoon, Alyssa Milano, Dua Lipa, Kerry Washington, St. Vincent, Eva Longoria Baston, Bad Robot and P!nk were among them. Many shared an image with the text, “I stand in solidarity with Texans & people everywhere seeking reproductive freedom.” The full list of the celebrities who support that sentiment is below; the vast majority of the signatories are women.
Washington also shared a link to a Planned Parenthood petition which, among other things, maintains that “health care — including safe, legal abortion — is a human right.

The producers behind CNN’s new eight-part docuseries “History of the Sitcom” knew that trying to tell the complete 70-year history of the TV genre would be an impossible task. So they divided some of the biggest comedies of all time into specific categories — and set out to illustrate how the evolution of the sitcom mirrored real-life advancements in society.
“It was pretty apparent that given the number of sitcoms that have been out there in history that you couldn’t do some sort of comprehensive, start-to-finish history, as though you were in a college course studying it from beginning to end,” says executive producer Bill Carter. “There had to be a way to categorize them and follow them according to some grouping. We have eight episodes; we could have done at least 80.”

There is zero interest in the female victim of a sexual assault in this slasher movie that focuses more on the hunt for the perpetrator
Here’s a trashy, slashy horror movie that takes the issue of sexual assault on campus, removes a few layers of complexity and adds a masked serial killer armed with a power drill. It begins at a frat house party where alpha-scumbag Beau (Gattlin Griffith) sets his aim with sniper precision at Kylie (Isabella Gomez), the drunkest, most-eager-to-fit-in of the new sorority intake. Beau offers to take her to the upstairs bathroom; instead he guides her into his bedroom with another guy, Wes (Froy Gutierrez), and locks the door.
The next day Kylie tells sorority president Ellery (Lindsay Lavanchy) that she thinks she might have been assaulted. The frat boys tag her as a “slut” on social media. Ellery, a science major, takes the investigation...

"If this were to spiral out of control..." Saban Films has released an official US trailer for the indie horror Initiation, the latest from director John Berardo (also of The Labyrinth). This premiered at the Sitges & Screamfest Film Festivals last fall, and it will be arriving on VOD this May. Whiton University unravels the night a star-athlete is found murdered in his dorm during pledge week, kicking off a spree of social media slayings that force the students to uncover the truth behind the school's hidden secrets and the horrifying meaning of an exclamation point. What does it all mean, Basil?! Lindsay Lavanchy (who also co-wrote the script) co-stars with Jon Huertas, Isabella Gomez, Froy Gutierrez, Gattlin Griffith, Patrick Walker, Bart Johnson, Shireen Lai, Kent Faulcon, Yancy Butler and Lochlyn Munro. This looks like some crazy campus serial killer horror, not so much any commentary on university culture. Check it out.

Warner Bros. Television and Doozer Productions are producing the series, which will begin filming this summer in Los Angeles.
