At this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, we had a chance to check out the first footage of Steven Spielberg’s upcoming film, Ready Player One. The movie is based on the Ernest Cline novel of the same name, and is poised to be a big hit upon its release. Not only is this a big budget, tentpole film based on a hit book, but it’s also something of a pop culture cornucopia. The novel was a love letter to the 1980s, and based on the trailer, it seems like they will be continuing the pop culture references through the 1990s and 2000s — as evidenced by the likes of the Iron Giant and Master Chief.

In 2011, the writer and director Joe Cornish released his debut feature film, Attack The Block, in which aliens begin their invasion of Earth on a South London housing estate. With a cast of rising stars and a director as confident as they come, the movie quickly gained a cult following and has proven itself a wellspring of talent.

But for whatever reason, the movie itself failed to catch fire commercially. It made back only half its budget at the box office despite near-universal critical acclaim. Den of Geek’s own Michael Leader gave it 4 stars, praising its visual flair and sense of invention.

Ausiello: The show is admitting the rarest breed of Grey’s Anatomy character this spring: an honest-to-goodness Big Bad. Lin-Manuel Miranda might have gifted the world with Hamilton, but that doesn’t give him the right to decide that he’s a Carrie, and not, well, a Miranda.

It's the dearest hope of every Manolo-wearing, Cosmopolitan-guzzling, serial-dating Sex and the City lover out there that one day, their four favorite ladies will reunite on-screen just one more time.
It's a dream that's been stoked by the cast members themselves – many times. They'll bring our hopes up, and then they'll come crashing down again. Sarah Jessica Parker will say there's a chance, and then Chris Noth will say he's done. Really, it's like the Big-Carrie saga all over again.
This week, Parker gave us a glimmer of hope once again. But let's not get too excited – remember what happened last time?...

As part of its series of as-told-to interviews with adult actresses, Cosmo has an essay by Samantha Bentley, who, besides her award-winning work for Harmony Films, Brazers, and Pure XXX, has also played a prostitute in two episodes of Game of Thrones. (She was in a bath with Salladhor Saan in season four, and played the Volantis prostitute who dressed as Daenerys in season five — not that you remember those scenes.) Just like porn, it turns out that Thrones also requires a naked audition. "I got a call saying, 'Game of Thrones wants you to read for this scene for season four,'" Bentley writes. "My friend had to film me in the buff reading the lines for the scene and we had to email the video to the casting directors." After not hearing back for a while, she traveled to Spain for a porn shoot, only to be...
