- Nathaniel Villanueva is a Mexican-Canadian Actor, Singer, Dancer, and Writer best known for his work in various Musicals, Comedies, and The film "Les Oiseaux Ivres" (The Drunken Birds). A Quebec-Canadian Film representing Canada at the Oscars in 2022.
At the age of 17, Nathaniel began his career as an actor when he joined the theater company Xpresion in Mexico City where he incarnated a diversity of serious, musical, and comedic roles in plays like "PS: Your Cat Is Dead", 11 & 12, The Bird Cage, Nativity Comedies, Bernarda Alba's House, Cats the Musical, A Chorus Line, Hello Dolly, My Fair Lady, amongst others.
At the age of 20, Nathaniel joined the professional Company of Regina Torne acting in various children's stage plays. He also joined a dance academy where he began his training in Jazz and contemporary dances.
At 21, he was hired to teach, produce, and direct Broadway Musicals at one of the most prestigious universities in Mexico, being the youngest teacher ever hired. During his time as a teacher, he co-produced, choreographed, and directed musicals like A Chorus Line, Grease, and 42nd Street, he also participated as a performer and assisted in the production of various Musical concerts. Plastic Arts Expositions, and Contemporary Dance Festivals, eventually participating as a dancer at the International Festival of Contemporary Dance for Soloists and Duets" as well as participating as a singer for various Operatic Concerts like Carmen, The Love Potion, Caballeria Rusticana, THe Messiah from Hendel, amongst others.
At the age of 22, he joined the Acting Academy for Theater, Television, and Films where he studied Drama and Singing. He also joined the National Institute of Beauty Arts for the special program for men where he studied Music, Contemporary Dance, Classical Dance, Traditional Dance, Literature, Creative Writing, and Plastic Arts.
At the age of 24, Nathaniel migrated to Canada where he instantly began working in various community theater productions while at the same time working full time as a professional dancer and teacher for silver-level Ballroom and Latin dances at the international dance school franchise Arthur Murray.
At the age of 26, Nathaniel was invited to participate in the televised event "The Rhythms of the World", where he presented two different dance numbers one showcasing a traditional Mexican dance number using dancers from all around the world and the other a contemporary solo number. He also participated in the International Ballroom and Latin dance competition "La Classique du Quebec" where he and his students won the Rising Stars award.
Since 2005 Nathaniel has participated in multiple community musical theater productions like "Grease", "Cabaret", and "Sweeney Todd" produced by the Broadway Camp Company. "Beauty and the Beast", and "Oklahoma" produced by the Hudson Music Theater Company. The "The jazz Singer", produced by the Segal Center in Montreal. The "Rocky Horror Picture Show" and "Rent", eventually producing, choreographing, and co-directing "Dracula the Musical".
