Dak Prescott was the Cowboys' second pick in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL draft. He entered the 2016 season as a third string quarterback to Tony Romo, but a set of injuries to Romo thrust Dak into the starting position for the 16 games that season. Prescott lead the team to a 13-3 record and the NFC East Division title, tying the most wins by a rookie quarter back in NFL history. That season he set 3,667 yards, 23 touchdowns and only four interceptions on 311-of-459 passing for an NFL rookie record 104.9 quarterback rating .That same year Dak became the first rookie quarterback in Cowboys' team history to be named to the Pro Bowl and the first to win AP Offensive Rookie of the Year. Prescott's highly successful rookie debut has cemented him as the team's starting quarterback for the 2017 season. Prescott's collegiate football career was spent at Mississippi State University where he seasoned his talents that would later reveal themselves in Dallas.
