It seems 2015/2016 shall be marked as the TV season that saw the resurgence of old shows reborn in mini-series form (or “event series” as the Us networks so desperately want us to call them). Its also the year that these returning shows, The X-Files and Heroes Reborn, did nothing but disappoint the fans who loved the shows and hoped – beyond all hope it turns out – that these new iterations would recapture what made the original series so good.
Heroes Reborn comes from original series creator Tim Kring (Heroes, Touch, Daybreak) and begins a year ago, in Odessa, Texas after a terrorist attack leaves the city decimated. Those with extraordinary abilities are blamed for this tragic event forcing them into hiding...

If you’re looking for similarities between Chuck‘s Chuck Bartowski and Heroes Reborn‘s Luke Collins, get ready to write a short list.
Outside of the fact that Zachary Levi portrays both men (and they each know how to wield a gun), Chuck and Luke have nothing in common — and Levi prefers it that way.
“My only prerequisite was I didn’t want to play Chuck again,” the actor says of his involvement with the Heroes revival. “I really wanted to play something that was darker and grittier and edgier and more f—ked up. I wanted somebody that had some problems.

Speaking to Collider, Zachary Levi has revealed a few facts about his ‘grittier and dirtier’ new character for Heroes Reborn…
As you probably already know, Chuck star Zachary Levi has signed up for a role in NBC’s franchise-revisiting event series Heroes Reborn. Zachary Quinto decided not to return, leading many to believe that NBC may operate a one-in-one-out policy for actors named Zachary. Ahem.
Levi has been discussing his role in an interview with Collider, noting that he met Heroes creator Tim Kring ‘a couple of times’ before deciding to join his series.
“ told him my desires for the trajectory and wanting to play a very different character from Chuck,” said Levi. “He totally understood that, and then came back to me and pitched me the role of Luke Collins. I was like, ‘Yeah, man, I’m in! Sign me up!’”

The latest adaptation of a Nicholas Sparks novel is every bit as treacly and manipulative as its predecessors. Scott Eastwood (Clint's equally rugged son) plays "easy on the eye" professional bull rider Luke Collins. Britt Robertson is Sophia, the art-loving student at university in North Carolina, about to start an internship at a New York gallery but whose life is thrown off-kilter after she meets Luke at a rodeo.

One of those rare films whose porn version will have the same title. This unbearable syrupy romance is based on yet another bestseller by the romdram supremo Nicholas Sparks, who specialises in notebooks, manuscripts, caches of love letters and messages in bottles – all telling comfy tales of old-fashioned monogamous passion for the edification of today’s youngsters, set in the rosy-hued past and in the wholesome American south or midwest. Don't expect any surprises from The Longest Ride, the 10th big screen adaptation out of the Nicholas Sparks stable. It's a profitable cottage industry for sure, but one that seemingly exists solely as a rite-of-passage for fast-rising 20-something Hollywood stars.
Everyone from Ryan Gosling to Rachel McAdams, Zac Efron and Channing Tatum have passed through a Sparks production on their way to bigger things. However, The Notebook aside, does any Sparks movie linger in the memory?
The Longest Ride is no exception. It'll be forgotten as soon as the credits roll, but its leads Scott Eastwood and Britt Robertson show enough charisma here to rise above a risible script, cheesy dialogue and flat direction.

Clint Eastwood’s son Scott has a first leading-man role in Hollywood in The Longest Ride. The film is the 11th adaptation of a Nicholas Sparks romance novel. Previous movies based on books penned by the “king of hearts”, as Sparks is nicknamed, have helped Ryan Gosling, Liam Hemsworth and Amanda Seyfried break through to stardom, so the role of bull-rider Luke Collins might well serve as a springboard to future success for Eastwood. But things could have worked out differently.

'Micah Sanders', the son of D.L. Hawkins and Niki Sanders, is returning the world of Heroes. Believe it or not, that face up there is Noah Gray-Cabey, now nineteen-years-old, and looking considerably older since he was last seen on the show. According to K-Site TV, Gray-Cabey's return was revealed at a Canadian upfronts presentation, ahead of the show's return this fall as Heroes Reborn. This is one of several reports coming out of the presentation, and the show's official Twitter account has since retweeted the K-Site article to confirm it. It appears the young actor will return for a guest-arc on the show - much like his former co-stars Sendhil Ramamurthy, Greg Grunberg, and Masi Oka. According to The TV Junkies, one of the show's newer faces, Zachary Levi was also on hand for the presentation. While there, he briefly touched on his own character 'Luke Collins',...

With all the ongoing (and upcoming) DC and Marvel television projects on both major networks and digital platforms, NBC is currently working on its own returning superhero property: Heroes Reborn. While a lot of story details are currently being kept under wraps, Heroes Reborn is continuing to expand its cast, with Deadline announcing the casting of Orphan Black’s Dylan Bruce. As most of the series’ cast members, Bruce’s role is unknown for now, and the only detail we have is that he will be appearing as a guest star. Bruce is most well-known for his role as Paul on Orphan Black. However, he’s also appeared in many other series, including Arrow, NCIS, As the World Turns, and Las Vegas. Just a few weeks ago, two of Heroes Reborn roles were revealed: Chuck’s Zachary Levi will play a character named Luke Collins, and Kiki Sukezane will portray Miko Otomo.

With its miserable fall season, NBC could really use a hit right now, and it’s banking on Heroes Reborn, a continuation of the once-popular superhero series, to provide that boost. NBC New Series Images: Naked Jaimie Alexander, Gun-Toting Zachary Levi and Topless Philip Winchester
NBC announced its 2015-16 schedule on Sunday (May 10) morning and also unveiled first-look photos from many of its new shows. And speaking of "The Slap," we have Melissa George as a heart surgeon with romantic issues in "Heartbreaker," airing Tuesdays at 9 p.m. after "The Voice." Plus, if you dug Dave Annable as a doctor in "Red Band Society," he's here, too. And NBC has gone all-in on "Strike Back" stars, so check out the first pictures of Philip Winchester in a topless brawl from the Thursday 10 p.m. drama "The Player," plus Sullivan Stapleton and a naked, tattooed Jaime Alexander in the Monday 10 p.m. drama "Blindspot." Okay multiplex maniacs, before we make a most welcome return visit to the Marvel Movie Universe, it’s time for that annual (sometimes semi-annual) slog into another movie universe, Sparks-land. I’m talking about another flick based on another product off the novel assembly line from Nicholas Sparks. Box office gold occurred with The Notebook eleven (!) years ago and the studios have been returning with pick, shovel, and camera to that mine ever since. Just like cinema stars and franchises, he’s a brand name. It’s just a question of which familiar themes will be re-hashed and which photogenic actors will be put through some now familiar paces. But hey, we may get a surprise, although this one’s title seems more than a little daunting. Are you ready to embark on The Longest Ride?

There are two types of Nicholas Sparks adaptations. The first is much more common, being the boring, sappy romances where love is the most powerful force in the world and people cry and die (i.e. The Notebook). The second is the stupid, cuckoo bananas romance, terribly pulling in other genre elements to make a hodgepodge bit of nonsense (i.e. Safe Haven). The second is so much more fun to watch, and anytime I start a Sparks film I am hoping for that film. Unfortunately, The Longest Ride, the most recent Sparks adaptation, falls into the first category, and it made me fall in love... with my watch (nailed it!). In the ancient past of 2007, Britt Robertson, whose character's name escapes me (an IMDb search reveals it's Sophia Danko) and it was all I could to do remember she was "not Jennifer Lawrence", is studying art at Wake Forest.

The Longest Ride is Nicholas Sparks's most ambitious novel. Instead of one couple, there's two — and he's even stretched out of his blonde/Southern/Christian comfort zone to make the older pair Jewish. For balance, and for pandering to the powerful conservative audience who made American Sniper a megahit, his young heartthrob is a blonde, Southern bull rider named Luke Collins who lives on a ranch with his momma. (Every theater in my home state of Texas will coo when she shows off a baby picture of him wearing a cowboy hat in the bathtub.) Even cannier, Luke's played by Clint Eastwood's son, Scott Eastwood, who pairs his daddy's crinkle-cut eyes with abs you could use as a cattle guard.

It was all about the famous celebrity offspring at last night's "The Longest Ride" premiere! Scott Eastwood looked dapper in all black on the red carpet for the flick's premiere. Clint Eastwood's son turned heads in his understated wardrobe and let his good looks take center stage. His costar Britt Robertson also donned black for the premiere. The 24-year-old went with a fun futuristic Christian Dior mini, which featured a partially-sequined turtleneck. She gave the look a pop of color with hot pink pumps. The movie stars the hunky 29-year-old and the blonde beauty as star-crossed lovers Luke Collins and Sophia Danko. Luke is a champion bull rider, while Sophia is a college student. Scott Eastwood is following in his father’s footsteps of becoming a leading man on the big screen.

Brace yourselves, people! The new trailer for Nicholas Sparks' latest silver screen adaptation, "The Longest Ride," just dropped and we're getting to see Scott Eastwood in all his shirtless glory. The story follows the lives of star-crossed lovers (aren't they always?) Luke Collins and Sophia Danko. Luke is a champion bull rider while Sophia is a college student. Things get tricky when Collins injures himself in a rodeo and their lives intertwine with a much older man, Ira Levinson (played by Alan Alda), whose personal love story influences the young couple. Clint Eastwood's son steals the screen as the sexy lead character, Luke, while Britt Robertson also stars as Collins' love interest Sophia. Judging from this trailer, there's going to be a ton of steamy love scenes between a shirtless Eastwood and scantly-clad Robertson. Are you excited to see "The Longest Ride"? If you have not yet heard of Scott Eastwood, don’t worry, he isn’t exactly a household name. With a short filmography that includes an appearance in Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D, one almost wonders why his name should even make a headline. The answer is simple: he’s Clint Eastwood’s son. And because he’s Clint Eastwood’s son, it’s curiously apropos that he should be starring in an adaptation of Nicholas Sparks’ western-themed romance, The Longest Ride.
The Longest Ride tells the story of a 91 year old man trapped by a car crash, who reflects on his past life with his now deceased wife.
