Pulsar Content has boarded “Mikado,” a heartwarming family film written and directed by Baya Kasmi, who previously directed “Iʼm All Yours” and “The (in)famous Youssef Salem.”

Pulsar Content has closed a raft of major deals on “La Maison,” Anissa Bonnefont’s erotic drama based on Emma Becker’s controversial bestselling novel chronicling the young author’s two-year undercover experience working as a sex worker at a Berlin brothel.

French sales outfit Bac Films has signed up to be the first exponent of the rights management system which it will apply to deals signed on their animation Terra Willy.
Logical is hoping that Blockframe can provide greater clarity around chain of title, more security over contracts and speed up cash-flow distribution. “Bac will register and secure into this blockchain the rights of all distributors buying the movie during Tiff,” confirmed Gilles Sousa, Head of International sales for Bac.

Distrib Films Us has acquired U.S. rights to Olivier Ayache-Vidal’s inspirational French social drama “The Teacher” (“Les grands esprits”) from Bac Films.
“The Teacher” stars acclaimed actor Denis Podalydes as a bourgeois professor at the prestigious Parisian school Henry IV who gets relocated to a high school in an underprivileged suburb. The professor, who was initially prejudiced, ends up forming an unexpected bond with a troubled student (Abdoulaye Diallo).
Sombrero Films and Atelier de Production produced “The Teacher,” while Bac Films handles international sales.
“This movie is a very subtle mix of social themes and comedy, tackling with intelligence the discrepancy that exists all around the world in education between private and public, [inner city] and suburban schools. Students need teachers that believe in them and adjust to their social realities,” said Francois Scippa-Kohn, Distrib Films Us’s managing director, who negotiated the deal with Gilles Sousa at Bac Films.

French sales company Bac Films has secured sales on high-concept picture A Bun In The Oven, starring Karin Viard (Delicatessen) as a middle-aged woman who discovers she is pregnant.
The film, which is in post-production, has sold to Germany (Wild Bunch), Benelux (Cinéart) and Switzerland (Impuls Pictures).
