Ezra Levant was born on February 18, 1972, in Calgary, Alberta. Levant is a Canadian conservative media personality, political activist, best-selling author, broadcaster and former lawyer.
Ezra Levant's great grandfather emigrated to Canada in 1903 from Russia, establishing a homestead near Drumheller, Alberta. Ezra spent his early life in a suburb of Calgary, where he attended a Jewish day school before moving to a public school.
Levant got his start in politics early, and between the years 1990 - 1993, while studying at the University of Calgary, he and his two-person team won the best debating category in the Inter-Collegiate Business Competition held at Queen's University.
Levant studied and earned his degree in Commerce through the University of Calgary and a degree in Law through the University of Alberta. Levant previously campaigned for the Reform Party of Canada during his teenage years and joined it upon starting university.
He is best known today for his commentary on the Ezra Levant Show hosted on the conservative media outlet, Rebel News, which he co-founded and owns (2015). Levant is the founder and former publisher of the conservative magazine, The Western Standard (2004). Levant also worked as a columnist for Sun Media where he hosted a daily program on Sun News Network from the channel's inception (2011) until its closure (2015). He is also known for making appearances on the Glenn Beck Program (2017-2022) and Stossel (2009).
