Alaska Holloway
- Actress
Alaska Rayne Holloway grew up in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Her
competitive singing career started when she was 12 years old in a group
called Oklahoma Kids. Oklahoma Kids, a division of American Kids, is a
child development, growth-generating activity for children who have a
desire to entertain. They provide opportunity to young people to
perform in wholesome environments under the direction of professional
educators and entertainers. It was through this organization that
Alaska met her singing partner and best friend, Madi Metcalf. They sang
both solo and duo in Oklahoma/American Kids competitions for six years
before they won the competition as National Performers of the Year for
a duet of "I Dreamed a Dream".
In 2014, on season 6 of the NBC show The Voice (USA), Alaska paired with singing partner Madi Metcalf as the Country duo, "Alaska and Madi". The duo competed on "Team Blake" under the direction of fellow Oklahoman, Coach Blake Shelton and sang Barton Hollow for the Blind Audition. In the Battle Round 1, they sang "When Will I Be Loved" opposite Audra McLaughlin. Following their elimination from The Voice, Alaska and Madi performed across the country and recorded their first albums.
