Benjamin Stefanski, best known by his recording alias Raffertie, is a British music artist and composer. A classically trained multi-instrumentalist, he studied Classical & Contemporary Music Composition at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, graduating in 2010.
Championed by Mary Anne Hobbes he received initial acclaim for his experimental electronic recordings, released via seminal imprint Planet Mu, signing to Ninja Tune in 2011. His releases were critically lauded by The Wire, Pitchfork and Drowned In Sound.
Some notable scores include Coralie Fargeat's 'The Substance', Michaela Coel's critically acclaimed 'I May Destroy You', and John Wick spin-off 'The Continental'. His electronic dexterity and classic songwriting sensibility have seen him become known for the enigmatic, emotive sound he has developed throughout his work as a composer.
