Forty years ago, author William Gibson brought the world a cyberpunk novel called Neuromancer – and an adaptation of that story has been trudging its way through development hell pretty much ever since. Versions of a feature film adaptation have passed through the hands of directors like music video maker Chris Cunningham, A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors and The Blob‘s Chuck Russell, Torque‘s Joseph Kahn, Cube‘s Vincenzo Natali, and Deadpool‘s Tim Miller. An adaptation of Neuromancer is currently moving forward as a 10-episode series that’s set up at Apple TV+, and Variety reports that Peter Sarsgaard of Garden State and The Batman has signed on to play a character named John Ashpool.

“Reacher” Season 3 is scoring buff ratings on Amazon Prime Video, as the streamer says it has commanded 54.6 million viewers globally in its first 19 days.
In that window, it’s the most-watched returning season ever on Prime Video, with a 0.5% uptick from Season 2 viewership. “Reacher” Season 3 is also the most-watched season on Prime Video since “Fallout” in its first 19 days.
Plus, more than half of “Reacher’s” audience is based internationally, with outsized performance in the U.K., Germany and Brazil, Amazon says.
As Amazon did not detail exactly what counts as a “view,” it should be noted that streaming viewership numbers self-reported by platforms still come with many caveats. Some brands solely report total minutes or hours watched, while others divide that total by each projects runtime to arrive at an estimated number of views. Streamers almost never disclose the exact number of viewers who watched the entirety of their titles.

Jack Reacher, the character, is famously a very big guy. His namesake series continues to follow in that image.
Season three of Reacher grabbed its biggest audience to date over its first two-plus weeks of release, according to internal figures from Amazon. The show brought in 54.6 million viewers worldwide in the 19 days after its Feb. 20 premiere — a slight uptick from season two over the same amount of time — to become the biggest returning series (i.e., season two or later) in the streamer’s records.
Amazon further says Reacher season three is Prime Video’s biggest premiere since Fallout brought in 65 million viewers over its first 16 days in April 2024. Only that show and season one of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power had more viewers over a similar time frame.
The 19-day period includes the first five episodes of Reacher’s third season; the sixth debuted early Thursday.

In its first 19 days, the third season has amassed 54.6M global viewers, which marks a very slight (0.5%) uptick from Season 2. Per Amazon, 56% of that audience is based internationally with particularly strong performance in UK, Germany, and Brazil.
The third season of Reacher is also the most-watched season of television on Prime Video at all since Fallout in the 19-day window.
It is no surprise that Reacher continues to perform well for Amazon. The second season came out swinging at the end of 2023, with the first three episodes surpassing the entire Season 1 audience by 50% in the first three days on the streamer.
More data on Season 3’s performance will be available in the coming weeks, when Nielsen begins releasing reports for February 20 and beyond. However, that’ll only give more context for the U.

An adaptation of Neuromancer is currently moving forward as a 10-episode series that’s set up at Apple TV+, and we’ve previously heard that BAFTA Award-nominee Callum Turner of Masters of the Air and The Boys in the Boat will be playing the lead character, Henry Dorsett Case, while Briana Middleton of Sharper and The Tender Bar takes on the role of Case’s partner Molly, “a razor-girl assassin with mirrored eyes.

Jack Reacher is back, and this time around he’s set on hunting a foe he thought was dead. That’s what the first trailer for Season 3 of “Reacher” revolves around.
The trailer starts with Reacher (Alan Ritchson) being recruited for another mission, this time one involving the owner of a rug import business and the DEA. But this mission has a wrinkle: Quinn (Brian Tee), a former military officer who committed a horrific crime, is involved.
“I thought I killed him years ago,” Reacher says, starring down at a picture of Quinn.
As Kansas’ “Carry on Wayward Son” plays, Reacher executes his plan to become an undercover informant for the shady business. That puts him in direct opposition with Quinn’s hulking No. 2, Paulie (Olivier Richters), the first character this show has introduced that is larger than Reacher. The rest of the trailer jumps between shootouts, quips, double crossings...

Reacher (Alan Ritchson) should pick on somebody his own size — and for once, we mean someone smaller than the dude he fights in the “Reacher” Season 3 teaser trailer, released on Saturday by Amazon Prime Video. Good lord, Paulie is enormous.
How big is the big fella? Reacher describes Paulie as “twice my size,” to which Neagley (Maria Sten) quips, “Last time I saw a guy twice your size was on Mt. Rushmore.”
Good one, Neagley.
Richters is not literally twice Ritchson’s size of course, but he is legitimately way bigger. Richters is a 7’2″-7’3″ Dutch bodybuilder, dwarfing Ritchson’s impressive 6’3″-6’4″ frame.

“Reacher” has scored a fourth season at Prime Video. The action series starring Alan Ritchson gets a huge vote of confidence as the Season 4 renewal comes well ahead of the Season 3 premiere next year.
“’Reacher’ has become a phenomenon that continues to resonate with our global customers beyond our wildest expectations and we are thrilled to bring the series back for an additional season,“ said Vernon Sanders, head of television, Amazon MGM Studios. “We are looking forward to more action and adventure from the immensely talented team.”
The renewal comes as Season 3 of the action-packed drama, which is based on the seventh book in Child’s global best-selling series “Persuader,” is set to debut in 2025 and will see Reacher go undercover to rescue an informant held by a haunting foe from his past.

Reacher has been renewed for a fourth season at Prime Video, even though Season 3 won’t debut until next year.
The news comes a week after the streamer also revealed it had given a series order to a Reacher spinoff starring Maria Sten, reprising her fan-favorite character from the mothership, Frances Neagley.
An early Season 4 renewal is certainly a vote of confidence from Prime Video, which is to be expected considering that the series has become a hit. The second season was Amazon’s most-viewed 2023 release. Season 2 debuted on December 15 and, within three days, those episodes surpassed the Season 1 three-day audience by 50%.

The third season of Reacher isn’t set to premiere until next year, but Prime Video is already looking beyond it.
The Amazon-owned streamer has renewed Reacher for a fourth season. The pickup comes months ahead of season three’s debut, which is set for sometime in 2025. (Season three was also announced ahead of the season two premiere).
That Prime Video would want to keep Reacher going is no surprise: The show based on Lee Child’s novels about freelance problem-solver Jack Reacher (Alan Ritchson) is one of the biggest on the platform. Season two, which premiered in December 2023, was the most viewed release of that year on Prime Video. A spinoff series focusing on Maria Sten’s character, Frances Neagley, is also on the way.

It was reported last month that a popular side character from Prime Video’s Reacher was in the works to get her own spin-off. Now, Deadline is reporting that the Frances Neagley-focused series has officially been ordered at Amazon. The show, tentatively titled Neagley will star Maria Sten as the titular character. The character of Neagley is a corporate security professional and former military colleague of Jack Reacher (Alan Ritchson) in the Army’s 110th Special Investigations Unit. It is also being reported that Ritchson is set to appear in the spinoff as a guest star, reprising his role as Reacher.
Vernon Sanders, the head of television at Amazon MGM Studios, stated, “As Reacher continues to resonate with our global customers in a profound way, expanding on the storytelling and characters with a spinoff was an easy decision. The Reacher-verse is expanding.
Prime Video has officially picked up a spinoff of its action drama centered on Jack Reacher’s (Alan Ritchson) former military colleague and sometime collaborator Frances Neagley. Amazon MGM Studios, Skydance Television and CBS Studios (taking over for the now-shuttered Paramount Television Studios) are behind the Neagley series, as they are with Reacher. The parent show’s creator, Nick Santora, and Nicholas Wootton (Prison Break, NYPD Blue) are co-creators of the spinoff.
