An Australian all round creative, S.J Hardy aspires to pursue her love of literature, art and photography through publication and creation. With numerous publications already under her belt, S.J Hardy is becoming known for the genre of horror, with her first publication Coffee Cafe Trilogy set to hit screens late 2018 early 2019. S.J Hardy also writes poetry in the style of Sylvia Plath, another one of the people who have inspired her. She is also a graphic designer, artist and amateur photographer.
In relation to her venture into the horror genre, S.J Hardy's love for horror started as a child when she first watched Wes Craven's masterpiece A Nightmare on Elm Street. Since then she has been inspired and influenced by some of horrors greats, such as Wes Craven, John Carpenter, Stephen King and the 'master' of suspense Alfred Hitchcock. S.J Hardy has also been exposed to the 'original masters' of horror, such as Mary Shelly, Bram Stroker, Augusie and Louis Lumiere and George Melies. S.J Hardy hopes to inspire and scare many future generations for years to come.
Her artwork, can be described as crossing multiple mediums including realism and abstract. Her use of colour could be considered bold. In most cases, S.J Hardy signs the back of the artwork, as she does not want the signature to distract from her creation. S.J Hardy began painting as a teenager and has won prizes for her work, taking out first prize for her portrait work and second prize for her abstract work at the Flinders Island Show 2016, where she also won first prize for her graphic design (Advertisement) work. S.J Hardy also likes to create sculptures and one of a kind pieces out of recycled material.
She also hopes to one day own a 1967 Impala. ;)
