Ezekiel Elliott was the fourth-round draft pick for the Dallas Cowboy in the NFL 2016 Draft, just the second time in franchise history that the team has selected a running back using a top five pick. With a stellar rookie year, Elliott led the NFL in rushing yards with a whopping 1,631 yards which was third by a rookie in the history of the NFL. Elliott's 1,631 rushing yards were accompanied by seven 100-yard rushing games and he totaled 1,994 yards from scrimmage which was third by a rookie in NFL history. He became the fourth rookie in Cowboys history to be named to the Pro Bowl. He also took home FedEx Ground Player of the Year in 2016 for his efforts on the field. Ezekiel Elliott's unique combination of speed, size and athleticism have made him a cornerstone of the Dallas offensive line that will serve the franchise for years to come.
Elliott's collegiate career was spent at Ohio State University. His sophomore year he was named an All- Big Ten honorable mention, rushing for 1,878 yards with 18 touchdowns. During his junior year he became the Big Ten Offensive Player, Running Back of the Year, and finished eighth in Heisman Trophy voting. That same year he led the conference with 140.1 rushing yards-per-game and posted 2,040 total yards solidifying a successful college career.
