Since 1994 City Councillor and since 2013 First Deputy Mayor of Künzelau; since 1994 District Councillor of the Hohenlohe District; since 2009 Member of the Executive Committee of the CDU/CSU Union of Small and Medium-Sized Businesses and the Economy (MIT); since 2015 Member of the Executive Committee of the CDU Economic Council e. V.
Member of the board and advisory board of numerous cultural and social associations and foundations.
Since October 2002, directly elected Member of Parliament for the Schwäbisch Hall-Hohenlohe constituency; spokesman on SME policy for the CDU/CSU parliamentary group in the Bundestag and Chairman of the Parliamentary Group for Small and Medium-Sized Businesses of the CDU/CSU parliamentary group in the Bundestag (PKM).
