Michelle Obama said she is worried about the potential results of the 2024 election.
She appeared on an episode of On Purpose With Jay Shetty, the podcast hosted by British podcaster Jay Shetty. During the episode, she listed the fears that keep her up at night.
“What’s gonna happen in this next election?” Michelle asked. “I am terrified about what could possibly happen because our leaders matter. Who we select, who speaks for us, who holds that bully pulpit, it affects us in ways that sometimes I think people take for granted.”
“The fact that people think that government, ‘Eh, does it really even do anything?’— and I’m like, ‘Oh my God, does government do everything for us, and we cannot take this democracy for granted,'” the former First Lady added. “And I worry sometimes that we do. Those are the things that keep me up.”

The Kansas City Chiefs delivered a blowout win against the Chicago Bears on Sunday, but it wasn’t the score that left fans breathless. The internet broke over the all-but-confirmation that one Ms. Americana — Taylor Swift — and Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce are starting their very own love story. Swift was spotted enthusiastically cheering on Kelce from a private box at Arrowhead Stadium, in the company of Kelce’s mother, Donna. The pair were later spotted together in the stadium and drove off to dinner in Kelce’s own getaway car.

Can we all at least agree that any two people can agree on something?
Piers Morgan brought conservative firebrand Tomi Lahren on as a counter-guest Thursday to vegan firebrand activist Tash Peterson, and for the briefest of moments – blink and you’d miss it – the two found common ground.
“Piers Morgan Uncensored” kicked off with Peterson – aka “V-Gan Booty” – whose calling card is, among other provocative tactics, to walk into restaurants playing audio of animals screaming at slaughter. Morgan spent the first few minutes tearing into Peterson’s modus operandi, suggesting she was only “annoying” people and contributing to a global downward trend in adopting veganism.
“I know you get passionate about it, but I think it’s very off-putting – it’s a bit like the Just Stop Oil protesters,” Morgan said. “It has the opposite effect.”

The Secret Service is investigating a white, powdery substance believed to be cocaine that was discovered in the White House on Sunday. Donald Trump has seized on the news, suggesting on Wednesday that the substance belonged to either Joe or Hunter Biden — or maybe to Special Counsel Jack Smith, who indicted Trump on federal charges last month, because why not?

After seeing political commentators spout extreme rhetoric about a mass shooting, Lola Blanc wondered: do they actually believe any of it? That question served as the creative impetus behind her brand new short film, Pruning, starring the one and only, Madeline Brewer. Talking heads like Tomi Lahren became the basis from which the rest of the film grew.
In its original inception, Pruning was not a body-horror film at all. It was a character study. Co-written with Jeremy Radin, the film examines the social and moral implications of extremist beliefs. Blanc utilizes horror elements to tell the tale of a right-wing commentator named Sami Geller (Brewer) who struggles with her conscience and being a mouthpiece for the alt-right. “We had outlined a version of it, and we were like, ‘It’s just not getting at the thing enough–the horror that this really should be capturing.’ So we dug a little deeper.

Earlier this month, Kid Rock responded to Bud Light’s collaboration with trans influencer Dylan Mulvaney by lining up cases of beer, pulling out his assault rifle, and shooting them. Flipping off the camera, he declared: “Fuck Bud Light and fuck Anheuser-Busch.” Kid Rock’s response to a beer partnership and the surrounding ruckus elicited a 200-word statement issued by the brewing company’s Chief Executive Officer Brendan Whitworth on Friday.
The declaration reads like a carefully crafted piece of crisis PR, in which Whitworth seems to be attempting to placate conservatives boycotting Anheuser-Busch products.

Succession star Zoë Winters has revealed the inspiration behind her character’s disastrous news anchor audition tape in the latest episode.
Winters plays Kerry Castellabate, the assistant and assumed romantic partner of media mogul Logan Roy (Brian Cox) in the HBO drama, which is said to be based on the Murdoch family. You can tead The Independent’s five-star review of episode two here.
In episode two of season four, which aired on Sunday (2 April), Kerry auditions to be the latest newsreader Logan’s Fox News-esque network, Atn.
Unfortunately, Kerry’s cringeworthy audition tape quickly becomes a running joke among the upper echelons of the Roy empire.
“We went into a real newsroom, so we had a whole set-up, prompter, multiple cameras and screens – and it was really fun,” Winters said of filming the scene in an interview with Variety.

One thing is clear from the early stages of the final season of “Succession”: no one is safe from failure. On Sunday’s episode, “Rehearsal,” Kerry Castellabate (Zoe Winters) – Logan Roy’s (Brian Cox) self-proclaimed “friend, assistant, and advisor” – was dealt her first major blow after a steady rise up the WayStar Royco ranks over the last two seasons.
Striving for an on-air position at Logan’s conservative news network, Atn, Kerry’s awkward audition tape was a laughingstock among the Roy kids and a flop with Logan himself. With but a few words and grunts, the family’s patriarch made clear he wanted Kerry kept away from the anchor desk. In typical “Succession” trickle-down fashion, Logan expressed this to Tom (Matthew Macfadyen) who then tasked the ostensible execution to Greg (Nicholas Braun). Kerry, naturally, didn’t take the news well, threatening to rip Greg apart like “human string cheese.

Spoiler Alert: This interview contains spoilers from Season 4, Episode 2 of “Succession,” now streaming on HBO Max.
Kerry Castellabate is the most ambitious assistant on “Succession.” She’s been hovering over Logan Roy’s (Brian Cox) shoulder since Season 2, and now she’s making a play at being an Atn news anchor as a major presidential election looms. Unfortunately, Kerry’s inexperience makes her as more of a laughingstock among the Roy family than a serious power player.
As played by actor Zoë Winters, Kerry has some breakout moments in Sunday night’s episode of “Succession.” On the news front at Waystar Royco, Logan rallies the Atn troops during a surprise visit, after Kerry has filmed test footage of herself as a newscaster. Her tryout is rough, to say the least. She stumbles over her words, and can’t seem to figure out what to do with her arms, as Greg (Nicholas Braun) later points out.

All of those boldfaced names responded in the comments section of the Instagram video that Rogan posted Monday in which he said he just likes to have “interesting conversations with people that have differing opinions,” but admitted he doesn’t “always get it right” and promised to “do better.”

Fox News’ Tomi Lahren called flight attendants “Nazis of the air” on Thursday during a discussion of airlines’ Covid-19 safety restrictions.
“I don’t honestly ever do this, but I will say there are so many good flight attendants out there. But there are some flight attendants that take their job as the mask police to an extreme,” Lahren said on “Outnumbered.”
During the 12 p.m. Et show, the panelists talked about violence erupting among passengers at airports and on flights that stem from discontent toward airline companies’ enforcement of mask and travel rules during the pandemic.
In response to one clip from an airport in Detroit, Federalist editor Christopher Bedford observed “people acting like animals and staff and stewardesses who are treating people like cattle.” He commented on people’s appearances and lamented that he can no longer order an in-flight beer “because people want to act like animals.

Meghan McCain is leaving “The View” after four years, and the move raises an important question — who’s going to take her place? Worry not, the People of the Internet already have plenty of ideas.
Some have real suggestions. While many are already speculating that McCain herself will eventually end up finding a job at Fox News, multiple current Fox folks are being floated as McCain’s replacement on ABC, arguing that “The View” will likely want to ensure another conservative voice continues to be on the panel. Suggestions there have included Candace Owens, Tomi Lahren and more.
Still others are hoping for the opposite. One popular choice is Ana Navarro, who has often filled in on “The View” when one of the hosts were out. Meanwhile, author David Hill suggested Ziwe, saying that she is the clear choice if “The View” is going to “atone” for McCain’s four years on the panel.

To seriously consider “Roe v. They’re falsehoods,” Todd succinctly said when confronting Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway on her use of the term. While the Trump era that Conway’s expression sums up is behind us, “Roe v. Wade” has reportedly been in the works for the past three years, so it’s fair to reflect on the baffling film as a product of that period, when right-wing fabrications were routinely presented as truth.

Rightwing faces, including Jon Voight, Stacey Dash and Tomi Lahren, join forces for a shoddy new drama purporting to tell the truth behind a major ruling
Nick Loeb and Cathy Allyn believe you’ve been lied to about the landmark supreme court case Roe v Wade – a decision that protected a woman’s right to choose. In a controversial new movie named after the trial, the co-directors want to explain how decision was rigged; how a Jewish doctor (Loeb is of Jewish descent himself) leveraged abortion into a money making scheme; how the abortion rights advocate Lawrence Lader (Jamie Kennedy) concocted a plan to puppeteer two inexperienced female lawyers to prey on a supposedly desperate bumpkin in Norma McCorvey (Summer Joy Campbell) – the Roe in Roe v Wade – to weaponize her to an unsuspecting court system. And they want to spew this deeply biased anti-abortion malarkey as inartfully as possible.

Fox News has been a having a rough time filling its airwaves.
Trump is out of office, Trump’s Twitter feed is out of commission, and President Biden has so far yet to transform the United States into crime-ridden socialist hellscape the network spent the better of 2020 warning their viewers was inevitable if he won the election.
This has left the network scrounging for storylines they think will rile up their viewers. They aren’t going to find many of them in Congress, where Democrats are working to pass a coronavirus relief bill.

There’s an incredible, immediate intimacy in opening your phone, seeing that someone is live on Instagram, and clicking over to see their face staring straight into yours. Even as the comments and emoji reactions scroll by at a frantic pace, joining these videos can seem like an intrusion — as if you didn’t mean to call someone but now that you have, you might as well stick around and see what they have to say.
On Jan. 13, a week after furious insurrectionists stormed the Capitol building, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez went live on Instagram to recount her experience in the wake of the event — or at least as much of it as she could, legally and emotionally speaking. Gazing directly into her phone’s camera as comments flew by, Ocasio-Cortez spoke for a full hour about realizing the extent of the threat, feeling unsafe alongside Republican colleagues she couldn’t trust,...

Fans and critics have now had the weekend to digest Borat 2–aka Borat Subsequent Moviefilm: Delivery of Prodigious Bribe to American Regime for Make Benefit Once Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan–and reactions have been mostly positive, with widespread praise being heaped on Maria Bakalova, the unexpected highlight of the movie. Bakalova, a virtually unknown actor, appears in the film as Tutar, Borat’s daughter. Everyone familiar with Sacha Baron Cohen’s work knows that he can commit to zany characters, even in the face of powerful, unsuspecting targets and real-life danger, but Bakalova’s ability to do the same, and with her surprisingly poignant character arc in the film, has been a revelation.
A scan of social media shows that many industry professionals and commentators are suggesting that Bakalova be considered for an Academy Award for her comedic performance. Not bad for a 24-year-old actress making her English language film debut.

Jay Cutler may be single, but not exactly ready to mingle. Just one day after E! News exclusively confirmed that the former NFL star enjoyed an evening out with Fox Nation's Tomi Lahren in Nashville, Jay is speaking out on social media. On Sept. 4, the football player cleared the air when hanging out with one of his favorite ladies. "Only lady in my life," he joked on Instagram when brushing one of the animals on his Nashville property. "Be better internet." So how did any and all romance rumors begin? It started when the pair was spotted at Winners Bar in Nashville at the end of August. "The two of them were having a lot of fun together at a table along with two other...

Fox Nation’s Tomi Lahren Has A Problem With Men Of All Political Persuasions, Airs Them Out On Video
Conservative pundit Tomi Lahren has several issues with men, and claims it’s something that all of her friends experience.
Departing from her normal political schtick, which she airs on Fox Nation’s First Thoughts, Lahren took the video route to shout-out her problems with men in a rant.
Calling herself a “woman of value,” and applying that tag to her friends, Lahren tongue-lashed the games men play and the fact that they’re not appreciative of women like her.
“It will be a cold day in hell before I chase a man,” said Lahren, who moved from Los Angeles to Nashville last spring after calling off her engagement to soccer player and one-time California 33rd District Congressional candidate Brandon Fricke.
“We have all dealt with men who treat us like we are not good enough.”
She asked men to be consistent and to make plans, among other items.

It’s been five years since Jon Stewart retired from “The Daily Show,” and the veteran comedian is still closely following politics and the news media. Stewart, who hosted the late-night show for 16 years, recently spoke to the New York Times’ David Marchese in a wide-ranging interview about current events, contemporary news coverage, and his legacy at “The Daily Show.”
His opinion on the latter-most point stemmed from a question regarding the current state of Fox News. Former Fox News host Bill O’Reilly was a frequent guest on “The Daily Show” during Stewart’s tenure and Stewart said that consistently giving O’Reilly such a large platform was possibly the worst aspect of his work on the comedy show.

Roku and Fox Corp. announced that they reached a deal to keep Fox’s channels on the device maker’s platform, an 11th-hour agreement that means Fox apps will be available for Roku users to stream Sunday’s Super Bowl.
Fox Corp. said in a statement late Friday, “We are pleased to have reached a successful agreement with Roku. Fox’s leading suite of apps will continue to be available on the Roku platform.”
Roku, for its part, said, “We are delighted that we reached an agreement with Fox to distribute Fox channels on the Roku platform. Roku customers can stream the Super Bowl through Fox Now, Fox Sports and NFL in addition to other ways.”
Roku’s distribution deal with Fox Corp. was set to expire on Jan. 31 — and Roku had preemptively yanked all of the broadcaster’s apps from the Roku Channel Store as the two sides worked to hammer out a deal.

Updated 8 Pm: After a mellow Twitter morning, President Donald J. Trump got warmed up in the afternoon with some Christmas jeering of California Gov. Gavin Newsom regarding the Golden State’s homeless crisis before blasting “crazy Nancy Pelosi” in his final tweet on Christmas Day.
After keeping a civil tone on Christmas Eve and Christmas morning, Trump slammed the Speaker of the House over his recent impeachment.
“Why should Crazy Nancy Pelosi, just because she has a slight majority in the House, be allowed to Impeach the President of the United States?,” he wrote. “Got Zero Republican votes, there was no crime, the call with Ukraine was perfect, with ‘no pressure.'”
…& overwhelming,” but this Scam Impeachment was neither. Also, very unfair with no Due Process, proper representation, or witnesses. Now Pelosi is demanding everything the Republicans weren’t allowed to have in the House. Dems want to run majority Republican Senate.

Fox News is so pleased with the first year of its subscription streaming service Fox Nation that the network is setting bigger goals for the platform to appeal to both hardcore fans of the cable giant as well as newbies.
The company has not released subscription or revenue figures, but Fox Nation head John Finley told TheWrap the service has surpassed internal projections for sign-ups and trumpeted its 80% trial-to-subscription rate — higher than the industry standard — and a low churn rate of people unsubscribing.
Moreover, the service has added thousands of hours of content from Fox News regulars like Bret Baier Kat Timpf, Tomi Lahren and Judge Andrew Napolitano as well as an increasing amount of programming that might seem to fall outside the network’s wheelhouse. That includes Brian Kilmeade’s history show “What Made America Great,” travel series like Abby Hornacek’s “Park’D,” Ed Henry’s sports-themed “Front...

Fox Nation host Tomi Lahren has apologized for a tweet about Kamala Harris that insinuated California’s junior senator slept her “way to the top with Willie Brown.”
Lahren’s tweet during the Democratic presidential candidate debate on Wednesday referenced Harris’ past relationship with former California Assembly Speaker and later San Francisco mayor in the mid-1990s.
“Kamala did you fight for ideals or did you sleep your way to the top with Willie Brown?” Lahren tweeted. She later linked to a USA Today story wherein Brown talked about his past relationship with Harris and acknowledged influencing her early career.
Brown served over 30 years in the California State Assembly, spending 15 years as its speaker and was widely acknowledged as one of the state’s most powerful politicians. Harris dated the married Brown despite a 30-year age gap and received her first significant political appointments from him.

Conservative firebrand and Fox Nation host Tomi Lahren on Thursday apologized for a comment about Sen. Kamala Harris’ personal life that she live-tweeted during Wednesday’s Democratic primary debate.

After widespread criticism for stepping over the line, Lahren backtracked by saying, “I apologize for my comment on Kamala’s personal relationship. It was the wrong choice of words. There are many other things to take her to task for and I will stick to those.”

CNN Contributor Paul Begala says he so against President Trump winning the 2020 election that he would vote for any Democratic he thought could beat him — even one who shot his dog.
“I am a JFK Democrat; I will pay any price, bear any burden, support any friend, oppose any foe to ensure the defeat of Donald J. Trump,” Begala told Chris Cuomo on his CNN program “Cuomo Primetime” on Monday. “You could be for Medicare for all or not, you could shoot my dog and if I think you could beat Trump, I’m going to be for you.”
“Well that is uh, very mainstream of you,” noted a visibly surprised Cuomo before moving on.
A rep for CNN did not immediately respond to request for comment.
Begala is a longtime Democratic strategist and a former host of the CNN show “Crossfire,” which he helmed with current Fox News host Tucker Carlson.
