Zain Ashar's journey is a tapestry woven with the threads of cultural richness and linguistic versatility. Born and raised in Oslo, Norway, he seamlessly navigates between Urdu, Punjabi, Arabic, and Norwegian, with the latter expanding to English as he entered Oslo International School in the 6th grade. Growing up as part of the minority, Ashar was exposed to diverse religions and cultures, fostering a deep appreciation for the intricacies of the world.
Ashar's foray into the world of acting began in high school, where he discovered a profound passion. The stage became his canvas, and "Children of Killers" marked his inaugural theatrical performance, a production that earned the cast an invitation to showcase their talent at the prestigious Royal Lyceum Theatre Edinburgh in 2011. Despite a detour in the Norwegian Army after graduating high school, Ashar's love for acting endured.
Upon completing his military service, Ashar's family encouraged him to chase his dream. Relocating to Los Angeles in 2015, he immersed himself in the world of acting, earning a BFA degree. His journey was not only about scripted performances; Ashar embraced the spontaneity of Comedy Improv, becoming an integral part of an Improv Troupe from early 2017 until late 2019.
The call of his homeland brought Ashar back to Norway in late 2019, where he continues to weave his acting magic. His story unfolds with a unique blend of cultural depth, linguistic finesse, and a passion for storytelling that transcends borders.
