Carina Acosta is a Director, Writer, Editor, and Cinematographer born in Tucson, Arizona.
Starting before grade school with her mother's camcorder and love for horror films, she is pursuing the only career she's ever wanted. Carina was well known at her school for inviting friends over to film short horror films. The films were published on YouTube and students from all over Tucson knew about Carina's short horror films. Eventually classmates would volunteer to act for her short horror films and strangers would show their love online, some commenting how Carina's films inspired them.
"I remember watching this channel when I was 10 and tried to make my own home movies with my friends. You and your friends are a huge part of my childhood, even if it was just through a computer screen."
"I remember these kids inspired me to make films, ever since, I've always wanted to be a director (still do)..."
Carina is also a painter, makeup artist, and photographer and she loves everything visual arts related. She loves incorporating similar art styles in her films.
Carina works independently mostly focusing on psychological horror but exploring the different genres of horror through the coming years.
"Death at Her Door" was Carina's first award winning short film at 22 years old, and is an introduction to the many more short horror films to come.
