Former NFL pro and Good Morning America host Michael Strahan is teaming with his Smac Entertainment partner Constance Schwartz-Morini and The Resident executive producer Marc Halsey on a new ABC medical series. According to Variety, the “feel-good” drama, titled The Front Line, revolves around Sebastian “Bass” Clark, a pro-athlete-turned-doctor who left the front line of the football field to start a new career on the front lines of healthcare as a medical resident. The series focuses on Bass and the other doctors and staff at a prestigious Pittsburgh hospital as they deal with high-stakes cases. ABC has given a script commitment to the series, with Halsey on board as writer and exec producer. Strahan is also set to exec produce alongside Schwartz-Morini and Thea Mann through their Smac Entertainment banner. The series is inspired by several real-life stories of NFL players transitioning into the medical field. This includes New York Jets guard Laurent Duvernay-Tardif,...

“The Day Sports Stood Still,” a documentary about the unprecedented sports shutdown of March 2020, will debut on March 24 on HBO Sports.
The film centers on NBA All-Star and NBA Players Association president Chris Paul, who is also an executive producer. At the time, Paul played point guard for Oklahoma City Thunder and was up against the Utah Jazz on March 11, 2020, when the game suddenly stopped. He’ll relive his journey over the last year, reflecting on living in quarantine, his crucial role in helping the NBA reopen and what it was like playing in “the bubble.”
It is directed and produced by Antoine Fuqua and executive produced by Ron Howard, Sara Bernstein and Marc Gilbar. Brian Grazer and Justin Wilkes also serve as producers.
The NBA bubble infamously had no Covid-19 cases over a three-month period, culminating in a championship season for the Lakers. Not all organizations were quite so successful.

President Joe Biden’s first formal interview as the Commander-in-Chief will take place during a uniquely American event: the Super Bowl.
Biden will sit down at the White House with “CBS Evening News” anchor and managing editor Norah O’Donnell, preserving a recent tradition that has the occupant of the Oval Office take a few minutes to speak with the news division of the network airing the Big Game. But it will not be broadcast live, as it was under President Barack Obama, who helped make the Super Bowl meeting a mainstay element of the extravaganza.
CBS will televise Super Bowl Lv, featuring the Kansas City Chiefs taking on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, on Sunday, February 7, with hours of pre-game coverage that kicks off at 11:30 a.m. The interview with Biden is slated to appear in the 4 p.m. hour.

This year in sports can’t be summed up with Top 10 lists and reels of game clips. So ESPN is going to try some different tactics.
ESPN plans a three-hour primetime event to bid farewell to year in sports that often involved events that took place well off the field. The show, “SportsCenter Presents: 2020 – Heroes, History and Hope,”will air as three one-hour programs and will kick off on Thursday, December 24 at 8 p.m. Jeremy Schaap and Lisa Salters. It will also be available on the ESPN mobile app
“We’ve done all different kinds of year-end specials. Some of them have been anthologies of our best stories commentary. Five or six different panel shows do ten best things, then worst things,” says Schaap, in an interview. “For obvious reasons, that wouldn’t have seemed an appropriate way to look back at a year with so much devastation and heartache...
