'Bull Durham' To Get Anniversary Party

Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins are to get a proper 15th anniversary for their film Bull Durham after all - to be hosted by the New York borough of Brooklyn. Real-life couple Robbins and Sarandon - two stars of the popular baseball film - will attend a screening Wednesday night at the Brooklyn Academy Of Music. Director Ron Shelton and co-star Robert Wuhl are also expected to attend. Robbins and Sarandon were scheduled to appear last weekend at the National Baseball Hall Of Fame in Cooperstown, New York. But hall president Dale Petroskey canceled the event because of couple's stance against the American-led war in Iraq. In a statement, Robbins says Brooklyn is an appropriate place to honor the film. He writes, "From Jackie Robinson, Roy Campanella, Gil Hodges and Sandy Koufax to the Cyclones, Brooklyn's glorious baseball heritage makes it a fitting place for the Bull Durham celebration."
