'Carry On' star Jack Douglas dies, 81

Carry On star Jack Douglas has died at the of 81. The comedy actor, who rose to fame playing stuttering Alf Ippititimus, died on the Isle of Wight this morning after battling an undisclosed illness. Phil Dale, the star's agent and close friend, said: "[He] was one of those lovely people who came from the world of comedy and understood comedy timing in the sense of the old British tradition of farce."
