Making its world premiere at the 2011 Los Angeles Film Festival, documentarian Gerard Roxburgh’s feature debut profiles writer, philosopher, alcoholic and Ultimate Fighting Championship star Evan Tanner, who died mysteriously in the California desert. Here, Roxburgh reveals all the different techniques he tried to get the material he needed from his interview subjects and how he became a director in the process.
