'Smallville' star joins Syfy, Don Johnson tastes 'South Discomfort'

Syfy wants former "Smallville" star Michael Rosenbaum, but not as Lex Luthor.

The network has ordered the actor's comedy pilot that he created and will co-star in with Jonathan Silverman, it was announced Friday (March 26).

The single-camera half hour comedy centers on two friends who are has-been actors from a sci-fi show that's no longer on the air. Their life without that fame has much to be desired, and they need to find out how to live like successfully like regular Joes.

 - Don Johnson will go Texan for ABC's comedy "Southern Discomfort," along with Steve Talley, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The project revolves around a conservative, no-nonsense Texan (Johnson) whose empty nest gets refilled when his grown kids move back. Talley will play the dreamer eldest son who decided to pursue writing instead of taking a baseball scholarship.
