Steve Carell Will Have 'Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day' With 'The Kids Are All Right' Director Lisa Cholodenko

If you're Lisa Cholodenko, the co-writer and director behind "The Kids Are All Right," you use that momentum to try something brand new. Last spring, she signed on to helm an adaptation of the celebrated kids' book "Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day" by Judith Vorst, and now it looks like one of the biggest comedy stars around is going to lend his talent to the picture.

Deadline reports that talks are underway for the always busy Steve Carell to star in the live-action take on the tale. The film will be the second directed by Cholodenko that she didn't write ("Cavedweller" being the other), with Rob Lieber penning the screenplay about Alexander and his family, who together are having the worst day of their lives, leaving Alexander
