Exclusive: Paradigm has signed Tony Award-winning playwright David Henry Hwang, in all areas. He had been a longtime client of the agency’s Theater Lit department and moved over from CAA in film and TV. This comes as Hwang is scripting Zodiac Race for DreamWorks Animation and adapting his play Chinglish into a script he will produce with Bobbi Thompson, with Fast Five‘s Justin Lin directing. On the theater front, Hwang, best known for M. Butterfly, is currently adapting the Tsai Chen autobiography Daughter Of Shanghai to be the first production at the Wallis Annenberg Performing Arts Center in Beverly Hills. His play Chinglish opened on Broadway last year, with multiple productions scheduled around the country. He was recently named the Residency One Playwright for New York’s Signature Theatre during the 2012-2013 season: his play Golden Child opens October 23rd there; Dance And The Railroad begins previews on February 5th,...
