Kannada-language film Lucia directed by Pawan Kumar, winner of the Audience award at the London Indian Film Festival, will release in India on September 6.
The film will release in Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Surat, Chennai, Cochin, Bhopal and Hyderabad besides Karnataka through PVR Director’s Rare.
The film revolves around an usher at a decrepit cinema who suffers from insomnia. His life changes when he starts getting weird and wonderful dreams but with a caveat. Set in the teeming young metropolis that is Bangalore, the film is a turbulent ride where the lines between dreams and reality are blurred to delirious effect.
Lucia is touted to be the first Crowd Funded Kannada film. The filmmaker raised Inr 51 Lakh with the help of social media in 2012 while all resources required for making the film were crowd sourced.
