Doug Liman To Take Over Former Tony Scott Project 'Narco Sub'

When Tony Scott sadly passed away last year, the director not only left behind a strong body of work (check out our list of his Essentials), but also numerous projects in various stages of development. And now one of them is looking to be going into the hands of a new director. The Wrap reports that Doug Liman is in "early negotiations" to direct "Narco Sub." Penned by David Guggenheim ("Safe House"), the story will center around the submersible vehicles South American drug cartels use to smuggle cocaine into the United States. Not many other details are known on this one except that it's set up over at Fox. But more crucially, Liman has a number of options at the moment. Though he's currently finishing the sci-fi actioner "Edge of Tomorrow" starring Tom Cruise for next summer, he's been attached to no shortage of movies, including an adaptation of Olen Steinhauer
