Lorena Rojas, Mexican Soap Opera Star, Dies at Age 44 After Lengthy Battle With Cancer

After a seven-year battle with cancer, Lorena Rojas has passed away at age 44. The Mexican soap opera actress, who starred in well over a dozen telenovelas, died in Miami on Monday, her talent agency, Latin We, confirmed. Her team explained that Rojas, "who bravely defeated the disease at different stages since being diagnosed in 2008, took her last breath peacefully in her home, surrounded by the love of her family, her boyfriend and her closest friends." In 2008, Rojas was diagnosed with breast cancer, and was told that it had spread to her liver last year.
