Machete writer Rodriguez and writer-director Mayer have signed on to adapt Erri De Luca’s Italian bestseller.
Paola Porrini Bisson and Oh!Pen Productions are producing Tu, Mio (You, Mine), which takes place in post-war Italy as a teenager falls for an older woman with a secret.
De Luca is in development with Dean Zanuck on The Weight Of The Butterfly.
Bisson produced The Nightshift Belongs To The Stars, A Musical Imprinting, and Trees That Walk, all written by De Luca.
Rodriguez is managed by Bob Sobhani and Jennie Frisbie at Magnet Management; Mayer iby Gary Ventimiglia. Both are with Stone, Genow, Smelkinson, Binder & Christopher.
