Sean Stone is keeping it in the family for his next project as writer/director: an adaptation of his father Oliver’s novel “A Child’s Night Dream.” The younger Stone has already written a screenplay based on the book, which the Academy Award–winning filmmaker wrote when he was 19 and serving in the military. Deadline first broke the news.
Set in Vietnam and based on the “Platoon” and “Born on the 4th of July” director’s own experiences, “A Child’s Night Dream” was first published in 1997.
