Actor/director Stefanie Black has signed on to direct the film adaptation of E! News correspondent Ken Baker’s novel, “How I Got Skinny, Famous and Fell Madly in Love,” TheWrap has learned. Black is set to co-adapt the story for the screen along with Baker. The award-winning novel follows plus-size teen Emery Jackson, who is convinced to star in a reality show featuring her effort to lose 50 pounds in 50 days. “Growing up a young woman struggling with body image, there weren’t characters on TV or in films that I could identify with,” Black said in a statement to TheWrap.
