The screenwriter is to adapt the memoirs of skier turned poker entrepreneur who shares name with Ulysses heroine

The true life story of a poker organiser whose illegal high stakes games drew Hollywood glitterati such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon is to be adapted for the big screen by the Oscar-winning writer of The Social Network, Aaron Sorkin.

Molly Bloom, dubbed the “poker princess”, was sentenced to a year’s probation and a fine of $1,000 in June following an FBI investigation. Earlier this year she published memoir Molly’s Game: High Stakes, Hollywood’s Elite, Hotshot Bankers, My Life in the World of Underground Poker, which details her eight years running what was supposedly the most exclusive high stakes poker game in the world.
