Harvey Weinstein’s transition from powerful studio mogul to disgraced butt of award-ceremony jokes was officially completed at last weekend’s Oscars, which the once-ubiquitous executive was not invited to. He was more likely in Scottsdale, Arizona, according to a New York Times story on Weinstein’s recent goings on, which include a stint in rehab for sex addiction — and, perhaps more tellingly, the early stages of a documentary about none other than himself.
“The man behind ‘Pulp Fiction’ and ‘Shakespeare in Love’ has already made some efforts to produce his most challenging film yet, these people say: a documentary designed to pave the way for a comeback,” according to the report, which adds that, “so far, no one will touch it. A representative for Mr. Weinstein said a ‘long list’ of producers and others have reached out to him about how to best to tell his side and story.
