Black Panther Breaks Star Wars Twitter Record

Marvel's Black Panther set yet another impressive record today, although this record comes from social media, not at the box office. Twitter announced that Black Panther has more than 35 million tweets and counting, which is enough to surpass Star Wars movies The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi as the most tweeted-about movie of all time. The most tweets about the movie came from the United States, the U.K. and Thailand.

Twitter also broke down some other interesting stats, revealing that the most tweeted-about emojis linked to Black Panther tweets are the fire emoji, black heart and crown. The three most popular hashtags are #BlackPanther, #WakandaForever and #Wakanda, each of which automatically brings up the Black Panther mask emoji.
