Box-Office Weekend: Avengers: Infinity War Demolishes Box Office

Avengers: Infinity War broke not only the domestic opening weekend box office record bringing in $250 million this weekend, but it also succeeded in taking in a total of $630 million worldwide, giving it records for both domestic and global openings of all time. The film’s mammoth opening weekend means that the nineteen films that currently make up the Marvel Cinematic Universe have amassed approximately $15.5 billion worldwide.

After Infinity War, every other film in this week’s top ten, predictably, dropped dramatically from its performance last week. In second place was A Quiet Place with $10.7 million, which has amassed an impressive $148.2 million during its four-week run. Incidentally, A Quiet Place is also the only film besides the newest Avengers film to finish in double digits this weekend.
