After over a decade since releasing his last album, Will Smith teased some new music on his YouTube channel.
In the video, published on May 23 and watched over 1.1 million times, Smith begins by saying he’s “reenergized…creating wildly like I used to.” Then he starts rapping, referencing moments from his career including his leading role on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, the Men in Black franchise, and playing Muhammad Ali in the 2001 feature film, Ali. The lyrics also mention divorce rumors about Smith and his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith (which are untrue).
The video, about three minutes long, ends with the words, “New music coming soon.” Smith’s last album, Lost and Found, debuted in 2005. Since then, Smith has focused on his film career, starring in a number of feature films from I Am Legend to Men in Black 3 and the Netflix original movie Bright last year.
