KollywoodThe film has been long delayed but has now been cleared for release.Tnm StaffThe Santhanam starrer Server Sundaram has got the clearance from Tamil Film Producers Council’s release regulation committee and is all set to release on July 6. It is a story of a mechanical engineer who becomes a master chef. This Tamil language comedy film marks the debut of director Anand Balki and is produced by Selvakumar under the banner of Kenanya Films and Miraacle Movies. The music is composed by Santhosh Narayan. The film features Santhanam as a chef and Vaibhavi Shandilya in leading roles and is the debut of Nagesh’s grandson, Bijesh. The title of the movie is taken from the classic Nagesh starrer. It also stars Kitty, Radha Ravi, Swaminathan and Mayilsamy. Selva, in an interview with Deccan Chronicle said, “We have given Santhanam a complete makeover for this film. It’s a different script, which hasn’t been handled in Tamil cinema previously, be it storytelling aspects or the way we have integrated the commercial elements into it.” “The film is based on food, and there’s nothing better than shooting in Australia where Masterchef originated. The climax will also be shot there," said Balki in an interview with The Hindu. He also revealed that there will be 10 real chefs on board to help while filming the sequences. The tale will be divided in four parts of 25 minutes each and will be shot in Goa, Thanjavur, Chennai and Australia. Santhanam was a comedian on television and he got his break in Tamil cinema in Manmadhan (2004) in a supporting role. His first movie in the lead role was Arai En 305-il Kadavul. He has also worked in Siva Manasula Sakthi, Boss Engira Bhaskaran and Oru Kal Oru Kannadi among others. He was last seen in Saka Podu Podu Raja and is waiting for ‘Dhilluku Dhuddu 2 directed by Rambala.
