Sacha Baron Cohen has been nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actor in a TV series Musical or Comedy for the coterie of characters he played in the satirical interview series Who Is America? While some will read into this that his inclusion in the series and not limited series category means that there might be an encore for his groundbreaking summer Showtime series, Baron Cohen at this point only wanted to thank the people who unwittingly helped him get there.
“I appreciate the Hollywood Foreign Press for recognizing me, which luckily is something that none of the guests on the show did,” he said. “This is such a special honour for me as the HFPA are always among the first to really appreciate my ever evolving humour. I am humbled to be recognised among such a wonderful group of nominees, all of whom I admire.
