The Phoenix Critics Circle announced their winners Friday with The Favourite taking the top prize of Best Picture.
Other winners include Roma‘s Alfonso Cuaron who won for Best Director. The Lee Israel pic Can You Ever Forgive Me? took home two acting honors: Melissa McCarthy for Best Actress and Richard E. Grant for Best Supporting Actor. Ethan Hawke won Best Actor for his performance in First Reformed while Regina King continues her Best Supporting Actress winning streak for Barry Jenkins’s stirring adaptation of James Baldwin’s If Beale Street Could Talk.
The Favourite‘s Deborah Davis and Tony McNamara also won for Best Screenplay while Sony’s eye-popping Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, which was recently released in theaters continues to impress winning Best Animated Film and Best Movie Based on a Comic Book or Graphic Novel.
