Jason Bateman (‘Ozark’) could win first Emmy after triumphing at SAG: Redemption for ‘Arrested Developement’?

Last month Jason Bateman won his first Screen Actors Guild Award for his performance as Marty Byrde in Netflix’s “Ozark.” It has been a long time coming for Bateman at SAG, who previously racked up five nominations for “Arrested Development” and one for “Ozark” but never took home the individual trophy. It’s not unlike his Emmy record, losing two for “Arrested Development” as an actor and two last year for “Ozark” as an actor and director. But that SAG victory could signal that Bateman is on his way to his first-ever Emmy victory for “Ozark,” giving him redemption for those “Arrested Development” losses.

The Screen Actors Guild clearly loved “Ozark” this past season, showering it with individual nominations for Bateman, Laura Linney and Julia Garner on top of one for its ensemble cast.
