‘The Simpsons’ Repeats Headed to Freeform In September

Disney is already making use of one of the new assets it gained from Fox.

Reruns of “The Simpsons,” which have been exclusive to Fxx since 2014, will begin on airing Disney’s cable network Freeform in September. All 30 seasons will be available to Freeform, with a specific premiere date being announced later.

Fellow 20th Century Fox animated comedy “Family Guy” has a similar arrangement — it has been airing on both Fxx and Freeform since April. The Seth MacFarlane-animated comedy airs three nights a week on Fxx and one night a week on Freeform.

Disney completed its purchase of most of 21st Century Fox’s film and TV assets in March. “The Simpsons” will also be available on Disney’s upcoming streaming service, Disney+, when it launches Nov. 12.
