Tom Savini to Direct an Episode of Shudder’s Creepshow Series, Casting Update Announced

One of the many reasons George A. Romero's Creepshow continues to thrill and chill horror fans more than 35 years after its initial release is thanks to the makeup effects by Tom Savini (who also played one of the movie's garbagemen in the memorable wraparound segment). It's fitting, then, that Savini has been announced as the director of one of the episodes of Shudder's new Creepshow series, based on a story by Joe Hill, who played Billy in the film's wraparound segment.

Savini will direct an episode adaptation of Joe Hill's "By the Silver Water of Lake Champlain," working from a screenplay by Jason Ciaramella.

Along with Savini's return to the Creepshow franchise, Shudder also announced a casting update for the series, revealing that David Arquette, Tricia Helfer, and Dana Gould have joined the cast. Read the official press release below for more information, and stay tuned to Daily Dead
