Pop TV Orders Comedy ‘Best Intentions’ From ‘American Pie’ Writer

Pop TV has given an eight-episode series order to the comedy “Best Intentions” from “American Pie” writer Adam Herz.

The series — set to begin production in the fall –centers around Andy Banks, a kind-hearted, painfully awkward single father who is the guidance counselor at the high school his son Nate attends. Andy’s never-ending hapless efforts to woo Katie Baxter, a teacher at the school, drag Katie headfirst into her own personal misadventures.

“Undateable” alum David Fynn will star in the series alongside Daniel Rashid (“Being Frank”) and Lindsey Gort (“The Carrie Diaries”). Guest stars include Natalie Ganzhorn, Benjamin Ayres and “Schitt’s Creek’s” Sarah Levy.
