Nia DaCosta takes up the challenge to direct ‘Captain Marvel 2’

Director of the forthcoming ‘Candyman’ re-imagining, Nia DaCosta, has taken up the challenge to direct the Marvel sequel ‘Captain Marvel 2’.

DaCosta takes over the mantle from Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck who directed the first in 2019. Brie Larson will return as the titular hero, also known as Carol Danvers.

It’s been reported that both Olivia Wilde (‘Booksmart’) and Jamie Babbit had previously been approached to take over the directors before Marvel chief Kevin Feige met with DaCosta over the weekend.
