Paramount+ launch to reduce theatrical window to 45 days for select films

ViacomCBS unveils content ahead of March 4 debut.

Paramount 2021 tentpoles A Quiet Place Part II and Mission: Impossible 7 will launch on Paramount+ 45 days after their US theatrical release, ViacomCBS executives said on Wednesday (February 24).

The company unveiled its streaming strategy at its investor day event and said it had extended Paramount’s deal with Epix by one year through the end of 2023. The arrangement will see the studio and Epix share priority on the Pay TV debut of Paramount’s theatrical releases.

In the case of the two aforementioned releases, Paramount+, which launches in the US on March 4, becomes the films’ pay 1 window.
