To celebrate the release of Monster Hunter, the new film from writer/director Paul W.S. Anderson, we sat down with the filmmaker to chat about his latest video-game/big-screen adaptation.
Based on the hit video game series of the same name first released in 2004, this big-screen adaptation marks a return to the genre for director Anderson after his huge success with the Resident Evil franchise and 1995’s Mortal Kombat, which was recently rebooted. While he has made other films in between, Anderson has always been drawn to this type of movie but tells us how Monster Hunter is different and allowed him to really stretch himself as a filmmaker and fully immerse himself in the world. He also talks about his previous experiences and why he was compelled to tell this one.
Behind our world, there is another: a world of dangerous and powerful monsters that rule their domain with deadly ferocity.
