Ava Ostern Fries, the producer and creator behind cult classic Troop Beverly Hills, has died. She was 87.
Fries died Oct. 2, her rep announced. Further details of her death were not immediately available.
The writer and producer was most recognized for her work on the 1989 adventure comedy Troop Beverly Hills. The film, starring Shelley Long and Tori Spelling, portrays a wealthy housewife who decides to lead her daughter’s wilderness group.
