Avatar: Fire & Ash Title Explained By Director James Cameron

Avatar: Fire & Ash director James Cameron explains the deeper meaning behind the film's subtitle. After the mega-success of 2009's Avatar, Cameron returned to the world of Pandora in 2022 with his sequel, Avatar: The Way of Water. Now, three more movies are on the way, and it was recently revealed at this year's D23 event that the third film will officially be called Avatar: Fire & Ash, with that movie scheduled to hit theaters in 2025.
During a recent interview with Rotten Tomatoes, Cameron goes into detail regarding Avatar: Fire & Ash's subtitle, explaining that it has some thematic importance.
