‘The Bear’ Wins 11 Emmys, Breaking Its Own Record for Most Comedy Wins in a Single Year

“The Bear” is an Emmy beast. The FX series just broke its own record for the most Primetime Emmys won by a comedy series in a single year, scoring 11 trophies during the 76th Emmys. That’s an improvement over last year’s 10 Emmys, which was the previous record for a laffer.
Big wins on Sunday night included lead comedy actor, supporting comedy actor, supporting comedy actress and directing (Christopher Storer for “Fishes” or Ramy Youssef for “Honeydew”).
Heading into the Primetime Emmys on Sunday, “The Bear” Season 2 had already won seven Creative Arts Emmys last weekend. Wins included Jamie Lee Curtis (as Donna Berzatto) and Jon Bernthal (as Michael Berzatto), who won guest comedy actress and guest comedy actor, respectively, for the episode “Fishes”; and outstanding casting for a comedy series.
